In March 2020 author Michael Rosen became very ill with COVID. He got so ill that the hospital put him to sleep for 40 days. When he finally woke up his arms and legs had stopped working from being asleep for the 40 days. He could stand up. He could walk. The hospital had taught Michael to walk again, with at first using a stick to help him walk again. This book helps adults and children understand that if you are ill you do what you canto get better and finding what cheers you up, like as for author Michael Rosen he found that writing helped cheer him up and with sometimes reading about these things helped him too.
Michael Rosen, a recent British Children’s Laureate, has written many acclaimed books for children, including WE’RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT, illustrated by Helen Oxenbury, and I’M NUMBER ONE and THIS IS OUR HOUSE, both illustrated by Bob Graham. Michael Rosen lives in London.
